    The Deurne-Schijnpoort wastewater treatment plant in Antwerp, Belgium is undergoing significant renovations to enhance sustainability. In 2020, the plant began replacing its sludge dryer with Cambi's thermal hydrolysis process (THP), promising increased biogas production and energy efficiency. This upgrade, part of a broader circular economy initiative, represents a leap forward in wastewater treatment for the Flanders region.

    The THP system is now installed on-site and is expected to be commissioned in 2024.
