    The Bakdal wastewater treatment plant, also known as the Saemul Park plant,  is Korea's largest underground sewage treatment facility. Commissioned in 2016, the Cambi thermal hydrolysis process system at the facility pretreats sewage and septic sludge together with food waste before anaerobic co-digestion. 

    The park the plant is situated under is a recreational space that features several green technologies. The final biosolids product is used as fuel at an incineration plant.
