Solution

CambiTHP - B4

Cardiff - Cog Moors

Cog Moors wastewater treatment works processes wastewater for Dinas Powys, Sully, Penarth, Barry, and the West of Cardiff in the United Kingdom. Due to compliance drivers and sludge increase related to population growth, Welsh Water needed to invest heavily in increasing the plant's capacity. In 2020, Cambi commissioned two trains of the B4 system, which contribute to the facility becoming an energy-neutral plant. Cog Moors also produces high-quality biosolids that are used for land application.

The two CambiTHP B4 trains have enabled Cog Moors to:

  • Significantly increase biogas production

  • Move close to energy self-sufficiency

  • Reduce final sludge volumes

  • Produce high-quality, compliant biosolids for land application

Cambi has a great gas yield - higher than many other companies we looked at. Having the Cambi system means that we are now almost a self-sufficient site.

Martin Pick - Senior Technical Operator

The highly automated Mark II system operates continuously and is supported by planned shutdowns carried out in close cooperation with Cambi’s service team.

Cambi is a really easy system to use. It’s automated, reliable, and the support is always there when we need it.
