Næstved
The Næstved wastewater treatment plant is the first to use the Cambi thermal hydrolysis process in Denmark. It is owned by the Næstved municipality through the utility company NK-Forsyning. It treats secondary sludge for a population equivalent of 140,000. One of the main benefits of the use of Cambi's thermal hydrolysis process at Næstved is the reduction of the biosolids mass to be transported out of the plant, which significantly impacts operational costs. The reduced investment in digester volume, the additional value of biogas value, and the enhanced flexibility and safety further increase the project's economic viability.
