    Cambi entered into an agreement with global energy and chemicals company Sasol to provide a thermal hydrolysis process unit that will be tested on industrial sludge from the gasification process. The demo plant was installed at Sasol's Secunda coal-to-liquids plant in 2021. 

    It was proven effective on this type of feedstock, and Sasol entered into a contract with Cambi for the first full-scale THP plant to process industrial sludge. The technology will reduce waste and lessen carbon dioxide emissions in line with South Africa's 2030 greenhouse gas emission targets. The unit will be commissioned in 2025.
