    In 2011, Waterboard De Dommel decided to centralise the sludge treatment from two of its plants using advanced anaerobic digestion. It chose Cambi's thermal hydrolysis process (THP) system as pretreatment for the sludge centre it constructed at its Tilburg facility.

    Cambi installed a THP unit, a process gas unit, and pre-coolers at the site in 2016. Thermal hydrolysis reduced the volume of final biosolids sent to the sludge mono-incinerator, contributing to reduced operating costs for the plant.
