Wellington - Moa Point
The Moa Point Water Resource Recovery Facility in Wellington is set to house New Zealand's first sludge minimisation facility and the country's first Cambi thermal hydrolysis system. The technology will reduce sludge by 80%, produce pathogen-free Grade A biosolids, and divert waste from landfills. Additionally, THP will significantly lower anaerobic digestion capacity needs, enhance green electricity production from biogas, and reduce carbon emissions by over 60%.
The THP system is expected to be commissioned for the site in 2026.
