Human rights

double-drop-1

Cambi strongly believes in upholding fundamental human rights and ensuring decent working conditions throughout our value chain. We follow the principles of Åpenhetsloven (the Norwegian Transparency Act) and the UK Modern Slavery Act to ensure that all suppliers and business partners understand and comply with the law and our expectations regarding modern slavery, human trafficking, decent working conditions and fundamental human rights.

To this aim, in 2023, Cambi completed comprehensive risk assessments of countries, business partners, and supply chains. All identified issues have been or are in course of being addressed. None of the issues were severe enough to necessitate ending any business relationships. The risk of practices in breach of the Code of Conduct is evaluated as low to moderate.

Furthermore, Cambi's headquarters earned the ISO 45001:2018 certification, cementing the commitment to workplace safety and employee health. The Code of Conduct has been translated into Spanish, ensuring greater accessibility and adherence in many relevant markets for Cambi.

Looking to 2024, Cambi will continue to monitor and improve oversight of its growing supply chain. The company is introducing an automated purchase order system that enforces integrity due diligence routines and plans to develop a specific policy on modern slavery and fundamental human rights, and incorporate specific clauses in all its term sheets and contracts. Management will also together with the Board of Directors revisit risk acceptance and adequate compliance documentation in supply chain integrity checks. Role-specific training for supply chain, site and commissioning personnel was prepared in 2023 and is being rolled out. The Code of Conduct will be translated into more languages. New key performance indicators specific to modern slavery risks will be introduced for reporting starting with next year.
